Former vice presidents Al Gore created quite the hornets nest with the publication of “An Inconvenient Truth.” Global  warming and the environment have been debated for years and everyone was under the impression that it was a slow process.

Gore puts forth that it is in fact an ever increasing problem that is happening much faster than anyone could have predicted. Since it is a problem not easily seen and quantified it has been placed on the back burner for the more visible and immediate problems. The book details the reasons for the need to look at global warming as an immediate threat.

It doesn't matter if you are a democrat or republican, the facts Gore has put together puts forth a convincing case that not only supports that global warming exists, but that its having an major impact on the world and the climate.

It's sure to provide fodder for both sides of the debate, but its definitely a book that needs to be read before making a decision either way. The book spawned its own movie as well as an audio version read by some of the biggest stars in Hollywood. Ok, Beau Bridges, but he used to be big and he's the brother of the Tron guy.

When I read this book, I admit to being a bit of a skeptic on the impact of global warming. I had no doubt that it existed, but I had no idea of the effects that it was having on the world as a whole. While we sit drinking out Starbucks, the glaciers are melting and the world is getting hotter by the day.
